Beyond the Pew …

St. Mark’s on the Campus is committed to many expressions of ministry both within and beyond our walls. A few of the ministries beyond our courtyard wall are identified below. We are eager to help you connect with various ministries in service to the church, the neighborhood, and the wider community of Lincoln. Contact our Parish Administrator (402.474.1979) for details.

Food from St. Mark’s Pantry is bagged in 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5-person batches for distribution by area agencies.

St. Mark’s Pantry

The pantry program coordinates emergency food packages for those in need. Volunteers stock the pantry shelves with food donated by parishioners from St. Mark’s and other Episcopal churches in Lincoln. Volunteers then package the donations to be picked up by area agencies to distribute to families in need.

Gathering Place

The St. Mark’s team of volunteers rotates with other community groups to serve nightly hot meals to those in need at a local center called The Gathering Place.

College Outreach

This ministry supports college students, faculty and staff. Projects include greeting incoming freshmen and making the building available for campus group meetings.

Sacred Arts

Volunteers team up for specific projects that create opportunities to share, learn, and celebrate visual and performing arts in liturgy and in life, featuring church, campus, and community artists.

One of the Sacred Arts projects included a display of icons and a class in “writing” icons.
